This research aims to see how people utilize and preserve the existence of tuak drinks in Bintang Mersada Village, Sidikalang District, Dairi Regency. The method used in this research is descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques using in-depth interviews, observation and documentation. The technique of determining informants using purposive sampling technique. The theoretical foundation used by researchers is the actor's strategy by Piere Bourdieu which explains that there are several strategies that can be used in inheritance and this relates to local wisdom which has the aim of hereditary inheritance. Tuak drink is one of the local wisdoms in the Batak toba tribe that is inherited and often used as a source of income by farmers. Farmers depend on their lives by utilizing tuak drinks to meet all the economic needs of their respective families. Based on this fact, farmers need to preserve and maintain the existence of tuak drinks so that farmers can still utilize the income they get from tuak drinks. The results of this study indicate that farmers who become tuak tappers in Bintang Mersada Village mostly utilize income from tuak beverage production and get little income from agriculture. There is only one strategy seen in several concepts of Piere Bourdieu's strategy, namely the inheritance strategy, where they try to preserve the existence of tuak by teaching tuak drinks to the next generation and those who are inherited are those who still have a family relationship with tuak tappers. This is also done to keep up with the flow of social change so that tuak drinks can survive in the future.
