Analisis Faktor-Faktor yang Mempengaruhi Konversi Lahan Usaha Tani Jeruk Menjadi Tanaman Labu Siam di Desa Gungpinto Kecamatan Naman Teran Kabupaten Karo

Abstract

Orange production in Karo Regency has been fluctuating over the past 5 years, one of the reasons being the conversion of orange farming land. One of the villages in Karo Regency that has converted a lot of land for orange farming is Gungpinto Village. The purpose of this research is to analyze the income from orange and chayote farming in Gungpinto Village and the factors influencing the conversion of orange farming land to chayote farming in Gungpinto Village. The determination of the sample was conducted using the saturated sampling technique by taking the entire population, which consisted of 40 farmers. The data used in this research are primary and secondary data. The data analysis methods used are multiple linear analysis and descriptive analysis. The research results obtained show that the income from Siam pumpkin farming is higher compared to oranges. Production, orange prices, and farming experience do not significantly affect the conversion of orange farming land to chayote farming. Meanwhile, production costs significantly affect the conversion of orange farming land to chayote farming in Gungpinto Village.
