dc.description.abstractEvery fresh graduate will face a transition period from the world of education to the world of career, and in this transition period it is necessary to adjust themselves to the career they will be aiming for. One form of individual readiness to face obstacles in career transition requirements is careful career planning. The objectives of this research include: 1) To find out the indicators that affect the career planning of FISIP USU fresh graduates in 2023 after graduating from college, 2) To find out the career planning strategies carried out by fresh graduates FISIP USU in 2023 after graduating from university. Type of research is qualitative research whose data collection techniques are in the form of observation techniques, in-depth interviews (in depht) and documentation. The informants in this study are 7 fresh graduates of FISIP USU in 2023. The results of the study show that the phases experienced by FIFIP USU fresh graduates in their transition period after graduating from university include indecision in making decisions, namely the condition of being considered difficult and doubtful of the decision that will be or has been taken, depressed, which is a situation that is considered an individual, there is hope and social pressure when facing the demands of life to be independent and anxious, that is, a condition where they are worried about things that has not yet happened regarding the future. In terms of career planning indicators in the aspect of recognizing self-competence, of the five informants, only one informant explained about his competence. In the indiscope of preparing career planning, the informants admitted that preparing a career plan since the lecture period is important, but in practice out of the five informants, only two informants apply it. Furthermore, in the indicator of career curiosity, all informants apply this concept, this is evidenced by their actions who follow a lot of job vacancy websites on social media. And in the indicator of practicing skills, only two informants applied the concept. Furthermore, factors that affect the career planning of FIFIP USU fresh graduates after graduating from university include lack of work experience and skills. Furthermore, in the career planning strategy carried out by fresh graduates of FISIP USU based on the results of the research showed that the five informants had different perceptions in implementing their career planning strategies, only one informant had implemented a career planning strategy since the lecture period, the rest of the informants were only focused on following job seeker websites such as Linkedin, Jobstreet, Glints, Karir.com and so on. Perception includes the receipt of the stimulus, the organization of the stimulus and the translation or interpretation of the stimulus that has been organized in a way that can influence behavior and attitude formation. This research can also be continued with different issues, namely problems in determining careers for fresh graduates after graduating from university, from this topic can develop this research more broadly about how fresh graduates are able to overcome doubts in determining their careers.en_US
