dc.description.abstract | Social support is the provision of a sense of security, care, appreciation, or help that a person receives from another person or group. Sources of social support can be obtained from many parties who are directly involved in daily activities. Social support can be provided to anyone, as well as to people with disabilities or disabilities. People with disabilities are individuals who have long-term physical or mental/intellectual, and sensory disabilities when they come face to face with society that prevents them from full and effective participation due to the barriers they experience. There are three forms of social support provided to people with disabilities, namely emotional support, instrumental support, and informational support. This paper tries to describe how social support is provided to people with disabilities by the Community Resource Rehabilitation (RBM) Hephata HKBP District IX Sibolga Tapteng. The method used in this study is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques carried out are observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that people with disabilities get social support provided by RBM without distinction, so that through this support makes them people with disabilities feel loved, comfortable, and helped in caring for themselves to develop their abilities and potential. The author's advice to RBM is to maintain emotional, instrumental and informational support for persons with disabilities. Not only given from RBM but parents or families also play an important role in providing support to people with disabilities. | en_US |
