Abstract
Melinjo (Gnetum gnemon L.) is one of the agricultural products in Indonesia that is quite high in demand. Melinjo is one of the horticultural crops that has great potential to be developed, in addition to being a vegetable crop, melinjo can also be a basic ingredient for making melinjo emping. Emping melinjo is a kind of snack food produced from processing old melinjo seeds. Emping melinjo contains 345 kcal/16.05%AKG energy, 2.24%AKG total fat, 20%AKG vitamin B, 22%AKG total carbohydrate, 20%AKG protein, 9.09%AKG calcium, 57.14%AKG phosphorus, 22.73%AKG iron, 13 g water and 28 g ash, besides that emping melinjo also has a distinctive taste and is in great demand by the public. The process of molding emping affects the production of quality melinjo emping. Manual molding of melinjo emping takes a longer time, because workers must pay attention to even thickness and balanced size when pressing melinjo emping manually. When making melinjo chips, molding is done with a pneumatic system because the air pressure in this system can be adjusted as needed. A pneumatic system is a tool that operates with air pressure from a compressor that acts as an actuator, regulator, controller and connecting the work process The melinjo chips molding tool with a pneumatic system has an effective capacity of 5.104 kg/day (8 working hours), the uniformity value of the thickness of melinjo chips of 0.0678, diameter uniformity of 0.1682, the percentage of materials left behind by the tool of 5% and the cost of using the tool of Rp.18,956.28/kg... By using a pneumatic system, the melinjo emping printer can produce melinjo emping safely, cleanly, effectively, and efficiently.
