Gay Communication Styles (Case Study in Medan)
Abstract
Gay is a term used to refer to men. Homosexuality is a feeling of emotional attraction (affection, emotional connection), either predominantly (more prominently) or exclusively (only) with or without physical relations with members of the same sex. One of the factors that causes a person to become gay is a less harmonious family, makes the individual feel stressed and associated with and carried away by gay people. As the existence of gay people continues to grow, there are pros and cons in society regarding the existence of homosexuals or homosexuals. Gay people also cover their identity using communication styles such as how they dress, body gestures, how they speak in front of their family and society. The theory used in this research uses the concept of Dramaturgy. Dramaturgy is a performance stage where we try to play our roles as well as possible so that the audience understands the purpose of our behavior. There are two performance stages in dramaturgical studies, the front stage and the back stage. The results of this research it can be concluded that the communication style that occurs among gay people meets and is in accordance with existing theory, namely dramaturgical studies.
