dc.description.abstract | This research was motivated by the fact that there are still many problems related to waste management in Pisang Pala Village, which include several main problems such as the inactivity of waste banks, lack of supervision from the village government, limited facilities and infrastructure, the absence of temporary disposal sites (TPS), and the lack of socialization and public awareness regarding waste management and the still not optimal 3R (reduce, reuse, recycle) waste management in Pisang Pala Village, so that an active role is needed from the local government and village government.
The research method used in this research is qualitative. The informants in this study consisted of the Head of the General Sub Division of the Deli Serdang Regency Environmental Agency, the Head of Cleanliness of Galang Sub-district, the Head of Pisang Pala Village, and the people of Pisang Pala Village. This research uses indicators of waste management by Anih Sri Suryani, namely Institutional Aspects, Financing Aspects, Legal Aspects, Community Participation Aspects and Operational Techniques Aspects.
The results showed that waste management in Pisang Pala Village has not been running well. In the institutional aspect, the lack of coordination between related institutions causes the waste bank program to not run effectively. In the legal aspect, the absence of village regulations governing waste management has resulted in illegal dumping in several locations in Pisang Pala Village. Community participation aspect, the lack of socialization of the waste management program in Pisang Pala Village has led to a lack of knowledge and participation in the application of the 3R principles (reduce, reuse, recycle). In terms of operational techniques, the community still relies on traditional methods, such as burning in waste management, and has not yet adopted the 3R concept as a whole. | en_US |
