The Influence of Capital Expenditure, Inflation, and The Human Development Index on Income Disparity in North Sumatra
Abstract
This study aims to determine how much influence capital expenditure, inflation, and the Human Development Index have on income inequality in the province of North Sumatra followed by 4 cities, namely Sibolga, Pematang Siantar, Medan and Padang Sidempuan in 2010 - 2023.
This study is an associative study and the type of data used is secondary data obtained from BPS (Central Statistics Agency), DJPK Ministry of Finance and Bappeda North Sumatra. Based on the predetermined criteria, the number of regions that meet the sample criteria is 5 regions. This type of research is associative research and the research method uses quantitative analysis and uses secondary data. The data analysis technique of this study is Panel Data Regression using the Common Effect Model (CEM) model approach assisted by the Eviews 12.0 data processing application.
The results of the study indicate that Capital Expenditure has a positive and significant effect on Income Disparity, Inflation has a positive and insignificant effect on Income Disparity, the Human Development Index (HDI) has a positive and significant effect on Income Disparity.
