Tertiary irrigation channels in Pulau Gambar Irrigation Area use earthen channels, which can cause significant water loss through evapotranspiration, percolation, and seepage, so that water delivery efficiency is negatively affected. This study aims to evaluate tertiary irrigation canals in Pulau Gambar Irrigation Area, Serba Jadi District, Serdang Berdagai Regency.
The results showed that the water delivery efficiency in channel I with a distance of 35 meters was 65.37%, in channel II with a distance of 35 meters was 60.25%, and in channel III with a distance of 35 meters was 64.87%. The average flow velocity is lower than the critical flow velocity, causing precipitation, so it is necessary to redesign the channel dimensions. The optimal tertiary channel dimension design results are for channel I with a channel width (B) of 0.35 m and a depth (D) of 0.18 m with a slope of 0.04%, for channel II with a channel width (B) of 0.31 m and a depth (D) of 0.15 m with a slope of 0.04%, and for channel III with a channel width (B) of 0.37 m and a depth (D) of 0.20 m with a slope of 0.04%.
