dc.description.abstractThis research is titled “Analysis of Intercultural Communication of the Acehnese in the Formation of Cultural Identity in Medan City.” The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach. The aim of this study is to analyze how the community in Medan views the Acehnese and how these perspectives influence the formation of their cultural identity. The theories employed in this research are the theory of cultural identity and intercultural communication. The research population includes the diverse ethnic communities of Medan, focusing on the interactions between the local population and the Acehnese. Data collection techniques were conducted through in-depth interviews and observations. Data analysis was performed by identifying the main themes that emerged from social interactions and the perceptions obtained. The results indicate that the people of Medan have diverse views, with some respondents acknowledging the positive contributions of the Acehnese to the local culture, particularly in culinary and artistic aspects. This study finds that interethnic interactions contribute to shaping the cultural identity of the Medan community.en_US
