The processing of shallots into products such as fried onions is very much found among the community. Generally, slicing shallots in many home industries still uses manual methods. To facilitate the processing, a shallot slicing tool was made. This study aims to test the number of blades used in a red onion slicing tool concerning the influence of research parameters, including the percentage of remaining material, economic analysis, yield, and the tool's effective capacity. The study employs a completely randomized non-factorial design (CRD) through three treatments, including treatment M1 with one blade, treatment M2 with two blades, and treatment M3 with three blades. The research results show that the largest effective capacity of the tool was obtained in treatment M3 (three blades) at 37.86 kg/hour, the highest yield was achieved in treatment M1 (one blade) at 95.167%, and the highest percentage of remaining material was found in treatment M3 (three blades) at 8.86%.
