| dc.description.abstract | The objective of the research is to analyze the research trend in the communication studies in Southeast Asia. Communication studies play an important role in understanding social interaction and the dynamics of information, especially in the regional context which is rich in the diversity of culture and languages. The research uses bibliometric analysis with Vorviewer software. Bibliometric analysis is a method used to measure and analyze scientific literature qualitatively.it is used to identify the trend of a research, inter- researcher cooperative pattern, and the development of research topics in communicating studies in Southeast Asia. The data are gathered from Scopus database, using keywords related to communication studies and the southeast area. Vosviewer is used to analyze the data such as titles of articles, keywords. and writers' affiliation in order to identify research patterns which existed in the period of 2020-2023. The result of the analysis suggests that there are various research trends in communication studies in Southeast Asia. These findings include the trendy development of research topics, inter-researcher cooperative pattern, and geographical distribution of writers' affiliation. Besides that, there is also the change in the focus of researches, as the time passes by, and the change in socio-political context in this region. However, the research trend in Scopus indicates the interdisciplinary synergy of communication studies with nanotechnology, philosophy, and synthetic biology which enrich technology and understanding about communication. The research conclusion can be a reference for researchers, academicians, and practitioners to understand the dynamics of research development and to identify the areas which need to be explored further in the context of Southeast Asia. | en_US |
