Abstract

Indonesia is one of the countries with the largest oil palm industry in the world, which has continued to grow year by year. This growth is indicated by the increase in land area, production, and productivity over the past five years, which is an implication of the increased use of superior oil palm seeds. However, the Seed Center of PT. Perkebunan Nusantara, as a producer of superior oil palm seeds, still tends to experience fluctuating demand. This research aims to analyze the factors affecting the demand for oil palm seeds at the Seed Center of PT. Perkebunan Nusantara IV. The analytical methods used are trend analysis and the Jonckheere-Terpstra test. The results of the research show that (1) The demand for oil palm seeds shows a declining quadratic trend, meaning that the trend value of the demand for oil palm seeds has a negative development and tends to decrease after reaching the peak point. (2) Factors that have a significant impact on the demand for oil palm seeds at the Seed Center of PT. Perkebunan Nusantara IV are consumer perceptions of the price of oil palm seeds from PT. Perkebunan Nusantara IV, consumer perceptions of the price of oil palm seeds from competing companies, the land area owned by consumers, and consumer income.
