Pengaruh Pemberian Air Kelapa terhadap Pertumbuhan dan Produksi Microgreens Dua Varietas Bayam
The Effect of Giving Coconut Water on the Growth and Production of Red Spinach (Amaranthus tricolor L.) and Green Spinach (Amaranthus spp.) Microgreens
Abstract
This research aims to determine the effect of giving coconut water on the growth and production of red spinach (Amaranthus tricolor L.) and green spinach (Amaranthus spp.) microgreens. The research was carried out at the Plant Cultivation Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara ,Medan at an altitude of ∼32 meters above sea level, starting from June to July 2024. This research used a two-factor factorial randomized block design. The first factor of spinach varieties consists of red spinach (Amaranthus tricolor L.) and green spinach (Amaranthus spp.). The second factor is the concentration of coconut water with levels of 0%, 25%, 50% and 100%. The data were analyzed using analysis of variance, significant variance was continued using Duncan's Multiple Range Test with a level of 5%. The results of the research showed that the response to growth and production of microgreens through the addition of coconut water had a significant effect on the percentage of germination, pH media planting, plant height, root length, number of leaves, fresh weight of the plant, fresh weight of the crown and fresh weight of the roots of the spinach plant.
