Trichoderma spp. is a beneficial fungus known for its strong antagonistic properties againts plant pathogenic fungi. For large scale application in the field, research on appropriate carrier media for the mass production of Trichoderma necessary. This study aims to evaluate the growth rate and spore density of Trichoderma spp. Six Trichoderma isolates namely T. pseudokoningii isolate T004, T. viride isolate T007, T. koningii isolate T010, T. harzianum isolate T012, T. harzianum isolate DT29, dan
T. pseudokoningii isolate DT39. The study tested these isolates on various, carrier media, including craked corn, groats, bran, and blotong. Conducted from October 2023 to March 2024, the experiment utilized a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two factors: the type of, Trichoderma isolate, and the carrier media with eight replications for each treatment. Results indicated that the highest average growth rate of Trichoderma was observed in T. pseudokoningii isolate DT39 with corn media, which was 56.0138 cm3 in 9 days. The highest spore density of Trichoderma spores was found in the treatment of T. harzianum isolate DT29 using groats media, with a concentration of 6.18 x 108 spores/mL on 7th day. Craked corn, and groat were identified as the most efftive media for the mass production of Trichoderma, while bran and blotong media can be used as carriers in product formulations.
