Pengaruh Konsentrasi dan Lama Perendaman Kolkisin pada Pertumbuhan Edamame (Glycine max (L.) Merill) Var. Ryoko
Effect of Concentration and Soaking Time of Colchicine on the Growth of Edamame (Glycine max L.) Merill Var. Ryoko
Abstract
Edamame soybean is one type of green soybean originating from Japan but has been cultivated in Indonesia. This study aims to determine the effect of colchicine concentration and soaking time on edamame growth. This research was conducted at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra. This study used a factorial randomized block design (RBD) method with 2 treatment factors. The first factor is the concentration of colchicine with 3 treatment levels, namely control, 0ppm (control), 0.02ppm, and 0.04ppm. The second factor is the length of soaking with 3 levels of treatment, namely 4 hours, 6 hours and 8 hours. The observed variables were plant height, number of leaves, flowering age, seed weight per plant, 100 seed weight and stomatal observation. The results showed that the concentration of colchicine had no significant effect on all parameters. The treatment of soaking time affects the plant height at 2 weeks after planting, and the weight of 100 seeds. The interaction between the treatment of concentration and soaking time had a significant effect on the weight of seeds per plant.
