dc.description.abstract | The manufacture of alginate-CMC-sorbitol bioplastics and the manufacture of alginate-CMC-sorbitol-Beeswax bioplastics (Beeswax) with the manufacture of alginate-CMC-sorbitol bioplastics with TiO2/ZnO additives has been carried out. Alginate-CMC-sorbitol-based bioplastics were obtained by the mixing method. The resulting bioplastics were characterized by tensile strength tests, FTIR, biodegadation tests, swelling tests, and on the addition of TiO2/ZnO additives, SEM tests were carried out to determine the surface of the bioplastics. The results showed that alginate-CMC-sorbitol bioplastics had optimum results at an addition of 5:5. In alginate-CMC-sorbitol bioplastics, a tensile strength of 3.6002 MPa and an elongation percentage of 13.87% were obtained. In bioplastics with the addition of Beeswax, a tensile strength of 3.3185 MPa and an elongation percentage of 9.35% were obtained. The addition of TiO2/ZnO additives with a ratio of 5:5 increased the tensile strength value to 6.2733 MPa and the elongation percentage to 9.41%. The percentage of water absorption of alginate-CMC-sorbitol bioplastics was 87.5%, and the percentage of water absorption of alginate-CMC-sorbitol-Beeswax was 11.9% while the percentage of water absorption of alginate-CMC-sorbitol bioplastics with the addition of TiO2/ZnO additives was 61.11%. The results of the biodegadation test bioplastic can decompose completely within 14 days, so the resulting bioplastic is environmentally friendly. The SEM test results showed that the alginate-CMC-sorbitol TiO2/ZnO bioplastic was not homogenious. The results of the functional group analysis carried out did not change and no new functional groups were formed, this indicates that there was no reaction in the constituent materials but only changes in their physical properties. | en_US |
