Analisis Konsentrasi Spasial Komoditas Padi Sawah Dan Hubungannnya Dengan Produktivitas Di Kabupaten Langkat
Analysis of Spatial Concentration of Paddy Rice Commodities and its Relationship with Productivity in Langkat Regency
Abstract
Langkat Regency is the 5th largest rice production center in North Sumatra. This
rice production is used for human food because rice is a staple food. The increase
in population and for the benefit of public welfare is the reason people consume
rice and resulted in a very large increase in demand for this commodity. This study
aims to analyze the distribution of the spatial concentration level of production of
wet-rice commodities in each district in Langkat Regency and analyze the
relationship between the spatial concentration level of wet-rice production with the
productivity of wet-rice commodities. The analysis method used is the
concentration index analysis and spearman correlation. The results of the analysis
concluded that of the 23 sub-districts in Langkat District, the production of paddy
rice commodity is concentrated in 13 sub-districts namely Bahorok; Binjai;
Wampu; Hinai; Secanggang; Tanjung Pura; Gebang; Babalan; Sei Lepan; West
Brandan; Besitang; Pangkalan Susu; and Pematang Jaya. The relationship between
the spatial concentration of paddy fields and the productivity of paddy fields does
not have a significant relationship, with a very weak relationship and not
unidirectional (opposite direction).
