Plastic waste is one source of environmental pollution in the world. The use of used plastic waste as a mixture for asphalt in road construction has become an interesting research focus in the field of chemistry. The use of plastic waste in the asphalt mixture can reduce the amount of plastic waste sent to final disposal sites. In this research, the first thing to do was purify the polypropylene plastic waste used as a sample by dissolving the waste with xylene and washing it with methanol. Followed by the polypropylene grafting process with Malean Anhydride and also the addition of the initiator Dicumyl Peroxide (DCP). This grafting process was carried out using the reflux method. From the grafting results, FTIR characterization was carried out and the Degree of Grafting was calculated. And for mixing plastic waste that has been grafted, it is mixed with asphalt and then FTIR testing is carried out to obtain a typical wavelength as evidence of mixing between polypropylene and asphalt, and for the process of mixing plastic waste with asphalt it can be done using the Marshall test. The addition of 6% plastic to the asphalt mixture for the production of AC-WC asphalt meets the Marshall specification requirements according to the 2018 general specification summary for road and bridge construction worken_US
