Pengaruh Pemberian Pupuk Organik terhadap Pertumbuhan dan Produksi Beberapa Varietas Sorgum (Sorghum bicolar L.)
The Effect of Providing organic Fertilizer on the Growth and Production of Multiple Varieties of Sorghum (Sorghum bicolar L.)
Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of growth and production of sorghum
plants (Sorghum bicolor L.) with the application of petroganic fertilizer doses. The
research was conducted on Jl Terompet, Medan Selayang, Medan City, North Sumatra,
from March to May 2024. This study employed a Split-Plot Design (SPD) with two
treatment factors and three replications. The first factor is the sorghum variety
(Bioguma and Samurai), and the second factor is the fertilizer dose (0, 174, 274, 374
grams). The observed parameters include plant height, stem diameter, flowering age,
production per sample, production per plot, ear weight per sample, ear weight per plot,
and weight of 1000 seeds. The results show that the variety treatment had a significant
effect on plant height (9 MST), stem diameter, flowering age, production per sample,
production per plot, ear weight per sample, ear weight per plot, and weight of 1000
seeds. The petroganic fertilizer treatment also significantly affected plant height (9
MST), stem diameter, flowering age, production per sample, production per plot, ear
weight per sample, ear weight per plot, and weight of 1000 seeds. The best treatment
is found at a dose of 374 g of organic fertilizer and the best variety is the Bioguma
variety.
