    Abstract
In this research, chitosan/reduced graphene oxide (rGO)/cerium oxide (CeO2) modified electrodes have been successful in detecting epinephrine using the cyclic voltammetry method. The addition of cerium oxide is considered to improve the performance of the electrode. Chitosan/rGO/CeO2 electrodes were fabricated using the electrodeposition method with a volume ratio of 1:1:1 using chitosan 1.5%, rGO 250 mg/L, and various concentrations of CeO2 500, 1000, 1500, 2000, and 2500 mg/L. Analysis of the modified electrode surface was carried out using the Fourier Transform Infra-Red (FT-IR) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) methods. Testing the sensing properties of the chitosan/rGO/CeO2 electrode was carried out by cyclic voltammetry using the parameter voltage range of -1V to +1V and a scan rate of 100 mV/s. Test were carried out using various concentrations of epinephrine solution 0.01, 0.02, 0.03, 0.04 and 0.05 mg/L dissolved in phosphate buffer solution. The results of the test showed that the chitosan/rGO/CeO2 electrode with a concentration of 1000 mg/L CeO2 was the electrode with the best performance. The Detection limit (LoD) and Quantity limit (LoQ) for epinephrine detecting were 0.011 μM and 0.036 μM. The results of this study show that the modification of chitosan/rGO/CeO2 electrodes is able to detect epinephrine with the lowest level, good sensitivity so that it can be applied as a basic material for sensors in detecting epinephrine.
