    Abstract
This research aims to determine the effect of giving boiled lemongrass and combrang through drinking water on the fat content, cholesterol levels of meat and the percentage of abdominal fat in broiler chickens. This research will be carried out in the livestock study program cage, University of North Sumatra. The design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments with 5 replications. The treatments consisted of P0 (Control), P1 (25% boiled water from combrang plants), P2 (25% boiled water from lemongrass plants), and P3 (25% boiled water from combrang and lemongrass plants). The observation parameters were fat content, meat cholesterol and abdominal fat percentage. The results of this study showed that the fat percentage of broiler meat was 10.83% to 14.19%, the cholesterol level of broiler meat ranged from 158.7 to 174.2 mg/100 g and the proportion of abdominal fat ranged from 0.46% to 0.54%. The results of the analysis of variance show that adding 25% phytobiotic extracts from boiled lemongrass and combrang plants in drinking water did not have a significant effect on meat fat content, meat cholesterol levels and abdominal fat percentage of broiler chickens. It is recommended for futher research to increase the level of bioactive compounds used or combine it with other herbal plants, in order to get the best result.
