The Influence of Social Media on Stock Knowledge and Investment Decision Making of Students at Universitas Sumatera Utara
Abstract
The aim of this research is to find out how social media influences stock knowledge and investment decision making among students at the University of North Sumatra (USU). This research uses quantitative methods with an associative approach. Data was collected through a questionnaire distributed to 30 students at the University of North Sumatra who actively use social media. Data were analyzed using correlation and linear regression statistical techniques. The research results show that there is a significant positive relationship between social media and stock knowledge of University of North Sumatra students. This means that the more students use social media, the higher their knowledge about stocks. The conclusion of this research is that social media has a positive influence on stock knowledge and investment decision making among students at the University of North Sumatra. Social media can be a useful platform for students to learn about stocks and make the right investment decisions.
