dc.description.abstract | This research aims to find out and describe the coordination between agencies in providing traffic orderly area services in Medan City which in this case leads to the Transportation Agency, Traffic Unit (Satlantas) and Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) of Medan City. Problems related to the emergence of motorized pedicabs, street vendors selling in the traffic-regulated area and the existence of traffic-related violations and there are still many people who do not know about the traffic-regulated area in Medan City, resulting in many traffic problems. The benefit of this research is to be able to know how to coordinate between agencies both in terms of unity of action, communication, division of labor and discipline in order to provide services in the traffic order area and traffic control and this research research is also useful so that the public knows about the existence of a traffic order area in Medan City.
This research uses descriptive research methods with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques were carried out by means of interviews, observations, secondary data and literature studies related to traffic order areas and traffic control in Medan City. The research informants were the Department of Transportation, Traffic Police, Satpol PP and traffic users in Medan City. The data obtained by researchers is then analyzed qualitatively by reviewing all the data collected and supported by the results of interviews by looking at the indicators put forward by Hasibuan (2011: 88) that coordination can be seen from the unity of action, communication, division of labor and discipline.
The research results state the following: First, there is no Decree (SK) related to the Traffic Ordered Area. Second, there is no socialization carried out regarding the Traffic Orderly Area to the community. Third, there is still a lack of self-awareness of the duties and responsibilities of each agency. Fourth, communication between agencies still often experiences delays in getting information. | en_US |
